WHAT IS IT?
The TUSC365 Elementary After-School Program invites players to practice ultimate frisbee right after school on various elementary campuses around the Austin area. Ultimate is a non-contact team-based field sport played with a flying disc, incorporating elements of soccer, basketball, and football. To see a game in action, take a look at our 2024 camp highlight reels below! While we love the elements of athleticism, teamwork, and competition, TUSC365 is especially proud of Ultimate’s #1 rule: Spirit of the Game, which prioritizes character, respect, and integrity above all else. We feel that this is what makes Ultimate a particularly meaningful opportunity for young athletes.
Our primary goals for the TUSC365 Elementary After-School Program will be
To introduce a love of ultimate to young ultimate players, ages 7-11
To build community and respect among classmates and friends, right on local elementary school campuses
To provide an athletic outlet AND promote social emotional skills such as self-advocacy, communication, and conflict resolution through Spirit of the Game
Each session will include 8 practices - one 75-minute practice per week - from September through November, immediately after school lets out. Our coaches will all be background checked, SafeSport certified, and TUSC-trained to work with this age level. Every location will be assigned two coaches, and will add coaches according to enrollment size. While there will certainly be ultimate instruction and games, we’ll be prioritizing movement, fun, and a sense of teamwork between players. Note that we’ll be using Discraft Ultrastar discs AS WELL AS J-Stars — which are specially designed to be smaller and softer for younger hands — while still moving and flying the same way as Ultrastar discs!
WHEN IS IT?
Session A:
Baranoff Elementary School: Thursdays, February 6th - March 13th (6 Weeks)
Barton Hills Elementary School: Mondays, February 10th - April 7th (6 Weeks) (UPDATED BASED ON PLAYER AVAILABILITY)
No practice on February 17th, March 17th, or March 31st due to Austin ISD student holidays and spring break.

All of the above practices will be 3:00pm-4:30pm, right after the end of the school day.
More schools will be added based on field, coach, and administrative availability!
WHERE IS IT?
All practices will be held on the sports/playground field at their designated campuses. Click the links above for specific school addresses.
Players are eligible to sign up for any of the locations/days that work for them, regardless of their school enrollment.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Ages 7-11
All genders
All abilities
All experience levels
Note that students are welcome to register for these events even if they attend a different school than any of those listed above. We recommend mapping out the distance to the closest location to you, and considering which day of the week might be most convenient for your family, your schedule, and your travel!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
TUSC365 strongly believes in reducing barriers for kids to play ultimate. With that in mind, our payment model has a sliding scale with three different options, so that families may select the price that aligns most closely with their budget.
Consider paying the Regular Price ($180 for Session A / $240 for Session B) if this amount would be neither a financial hardship nor sacrifice for you and/or your family. This option ensures that all expenses are covered for our program to function.
Consider using the Pay it Forward Price ($230 for Session A / $290 for Session B) to cover the cost of your registration and to directly facilitate opportunities for other players. This option also directly benefits other youth ultimate players in our community by ensuring that all expenses are covered for our program to function, AND that ALL PLAYERS receive the same high-quality experience regardless of their financial circumstances.
Consider paying the discounted Accessibility Price ($130 for Session A / $190 for Session B) if the Regular Price or the Pay it Forward Price would lead to a harmful impact on you and/or your family.
Please note that for our sliding scale to be successful, we rely on families that can pay the Regular Price to do so, or to help others participate by paying the Pay it Forward price. We also offer deeper discounted rates and full scholarships, if necessary. Contact tusculti@gmail.com or tamiyatusc@gmail.com to learn more about these options.
